Potty Training

This is a post I will show Aldo one day and he'll be embarrassed by it. Haha! Anyway, Aldo is officially daytime potty trained! YAY!!! He does really well with asking to go even when we're at the store or someone's house. We're still working on nighttime which is much harder. Aldo loves to relax in bed when he wakes up so we're having trouble getting him to use the potty right when he wakes up. He's super proud of himself though and so are we!

Sorry about the Wayne's World title there... but I couldn't resist. As the title suggests we have officially begun potty training. I know that E is not even two and I'm sure some of you think I'm absolutely crazy for doing so. However, remember that post a year or so ago about cloth diapers and how kids in them can potty train faster? Well, they're working. Around Thanksgiving time or so, Eliel began to tell us when he had messed his diaper. He was not very happy to sit in one when he had done so. With all the craziness of the holidays, I figured it wasn't a very good time to try and potty train our little guy so once the holiday were over, we gave it a try. We started with a naked day. Basically, Eliel ran around naked and as soon as I would notice that he was about to or starting to go, I would rush him to the potty. That worked quite well and after only a few hours, he was able to tell me when he needed to go. That was abou...

4th of July

We had a blast this past 4th of July! The weather was perfect which always helps and we were surrounded by friends and family. We began our morning by attending our town's parade. It's very close to our house so we ride our bikes there to stay away from all the traffic. Last year, Eliel got bored and didn't want to stay until the end. This year, we stayed until the end and even watched the street cleaners come by and clean up after the parade was over. Our town's parade lasted about an hour and half and Eliel loved every minute of it! He was constantly awed by the trucks and bands that paraded by and loved grabbing the candy and other treats the parade walkers threw out as they walked by. In addition to tons of candy, Eliel received two water bottles, a t-shirt, a fake tattoo, and a banana from the local grocery store (such a cool idea!) Once Eliel realized that we would let him eat some of the things they threw out, he was like a m...
