Cantigny Park

As the weather has finally turned into spring, we decided to take another little excursion.  This time, we went to the First Division Museum at Cantigny Park.  We've been wanting to check it out but the weather hadn't cooperated up until now.  So, on the first weekend that finally felt like spring, we checked it out.  Boy, were we pleasantly surprised!

The museum itself was impressive with  interactive exhibits, lifelike scenes and amazing artifacts from numerous wars.  The boys (including Adam) had a blast checking out all the different guns, uniforms and information that was presented from World War I all the way to current conflicts.  They even had a simulated tank ride along that the boys thought was pretty cool.

We spent almost two hours going through the exhibits.  Had Eliel been able to read, he would have spent much more time in there!  Aldo loved running ahead to each 'scene' and then running back to Eliel and Daddy and telling him what was coming up next.  It was a great learning experience for all of us.

The best part of the whole day was going to the tank park.  The boys were thrilled to not only see real tanks up close but to be able to climb on them.  They went from one to another climbing, pretending and screaming from excitement.

Not only was the weather wonderful but it was a great family fun day!  As the weather warms up, we can't wait to do stuff like this more often now that we don't have to worry about any babies needing naps or having to eat!  Summer fun, here we come!
