Growing Up

So this first picture is one that makes me think of the saying 'sleep like a baby'.  This little guy was OUT.  It might have had something to do with the fact that he was up at 5:45am that morning....

Each day, Eliel looks and acts more and more like a toddler and less like a baby. On one hand, it's so fun to watch him grow and learn new things, but on the other hand, it's sad to know we won't have a 'baby' in the house anymore!  Some things are easier now that he's gotten older while other things have gotten harder.  Mommy gets less things done during the day because Eliel moves.... fast.  However, Eliel is also able to keep himself occupied for a few minutes at a time with toys.  We don't have many toys because up until now, he really wasn't interested in much more than his bowl and spoon.  Now, he loves to play with blocks, balls and of course anything Mommy and Daddy don't want him touching.

Brush, brush, brush your teeth!
Eliel has really taken to dental hygiene and insists on 'brushing' his teeth while Daddy gets ready for work.  He'd brush them all day if we let him.  He also enjoys going into cabinets and flushing the toilet.  All in all, he loves the bathroom.  Needless to say, he hates it when we close the door to it.

Eliel has also been working on his speech.  He has definitely mastered the 'ba' sound!  I think we can credit Nugget with that.  If Nugget barks, Eliel 'barks' back.  He also has been trying to say ball and book.  The two are distinguishable but unless you hear them a lot, I'm sure most people wouldn't  be able to tell the difference.  Here is a short video of E trying out 'ball' and imitating Nugget.  Can you hear a difference?

Almost words

I think it's funny that Nugget has his back to Eliel in the video.  Nugget HATES the toy that Eliel is holding.  It's actually Nugget's toys but he's afraid of it and won't even look at it.  Eliel loves it.  Silly dog.
