Soccer Practice

Eliel had his first soccer practice this weekend!  We signed him up for a class that was for 2-3 year olds figuring it  would be right up his alley.  He loves watching Daddy play soccer and was extremely excited that he would get to play soccer himself.

The class is held in a gym which is good and bad.  Good because the weather doesn't play a factor in whether or not class is held.  So, with the weather we've been having this summer, this is a very good thing!  The bad side is that the balls roll very easily on the gym floor.  So when all the toddlers kick the balls, you can imagine the numerous directions they all travel.

I'm not trying to sound like a proud parent or anything, but Eliel follows directions extremely well.  Even before he could talk he has been able to follow one and two step directions all on his own.  This translated very well to his soccer practice.   Many other kids just wanted to run like crazy and kick the balls (which is totally acceptable I might add!) but Eliel was content to listen to the coach (and Daddy) and follow directions.  He really enjoyed trying some new skills and became especially good at trapping the ball.

I can't wait to see him again next week!
