Milwaukee Trip

A few weekends ago we took a quick weekend trip to Milwaukee.  The boys had been dying to see some elephants and since none of the zoos in Chicago have any, we needed to go to another city.  We saw them in St. Louis a few years ago and since Milwaukee is much closer, we decided to head there.  We had never been to the Milwaukee Zoo and we were pleasantly surprised by all the fantastic exhibits!  You were able to get up close to many of the animals and they had lots of interesting facts about all the animals as well. Once Eliel learns to read, we will probably spend a ton of time at exhibits because he will want to read every single word!

Family selfie with an elephant!

Instead of driving all the way, we stayed in a hotel overnight and the boys had a blast playing in the pool.  It was a nice kiddie sized one so Mommy and Daddy didn't have to get in but could watch from the side!

Since we stayed up in Milwaukee, we decided to go to an apple farm to pick some fresh apples.  The boys had a blast climbing ladders to pick apples from the highest branches as well as picking some off the ground to eat.  The farm also had pear trees and plum tress so we ended up coming home with a few extra pounds of plums.  It was a wonderful start to fall.  Can't wait to enjoy all the rest of the fun things that come with the changing of the seasons!
