Uplifting

Despite all this craziness, there have been many uplifting things happening all around us.  My boys have been lucky enough to have wonderful teachers who have done their very best to try and stay in touch as much as possible.

Eliel has done a few Zoom meetings with his teacher and today he did one with his whole class.  He's always excited about it and says he loves being able to see all of his friends.  It's so nice to seem them all again, together.  They were giddy as they waved to each other.
They were all giggling!

We have just begun our fourth week home, third week of doing what they call e-learning as one of the weeks was spring break.  During spring break, Eliel's teacher made a map of a all of the students homes and made it a point to run past each of them one morning.  It was definitely the highlight of our day.  She made a quick video of it which was fun to see.  Carlson Crew Wednesday Waves
His teacher has also been doing read alouds each day and sending them to the students in addition to a schedule of all the school work each day.  She has been amazing through all of this.
The week after spring break, Eliel's entire school did a teacher parade through the neighborhoods.  It was so great to see all those wonderful smiling teachers.  I would be lying if I didn't say it made me cry to see everyone so happy after all of the insanity going on around us.

Aldo's teachers have been just as great.  Each day they send a story read aloud by one of the teachers as well as some activities to help keep us busy all week.  They also made a slideshow of all of the kids who sent in messages for their friends.  It's really sweet and Aldo watches it every few days.

We've also had two friends from Eliel's class who have birthdays this past week and in order to help them celebrate in some way, we've done drive by honk & waves.  It's been cute to see the kids get so excited when a parade of 20+ cars drive by the house decorated and honking their horns.

We've also tried to brighten up our neighborhood by adding some paper flowers to our windows and chalking our entire front walk for all to see!

Here's hoping this latest blog posts finds you healthy, happy and doing the best you can to get through this.
