What a weird start to the school year but we did it!  Eliel's school decided a few weeks before the first day to switch to all remote learning so we had to juggle some things to find a space for him to feel comfortable learning.  The first few days were quite rough, he had trouble sitting in front of the computer for over six hours.  After talking with him, his principal, and his teacher, Adam and I decided to partially enroll Eliel instead of keeping his full-time enrollment.  What that means is that he doesn't do every subject with his teachers.  He currently remains with his class for math, reading and language arts and is being homeschooled for the remaining subjects.  So, while I am unable to go into a classroom and teach, I've had some fun opportunities to create some learning experiences for him.  We're currently working on furthering his piano skills, as well as some map skills learned through virtual trips to different states. He also participates in karate and baseball which he absolutely loves!

As of now, there are possible plans for a return to hybrid school in mid-October, however that was supposed to happen in mid-September so we'll have to see how that pans out.  For now, we're doing the best we have with what we have!  Can't wait to see what second grade brings for this amazing little guy!
