Uno Birthday Party

Eliel's birthday party last week went really well!  I had initially wanted to get a few more things done before the party that would have added to the theme, but unfortuately, we had a little run in with some ice dams and had water pouring in through our kitchen ceiling earlier in the week.  So, Mommy didn't get a chance to make the party overly 'Uno' but despite that it went really well!  It was almost a distater as Mr. Eliel was not thrilled with it at first.  I'm not sure if it was too overwhelming or if he was teething, but he was not a happy camper for the first 45-60  minutes.  These picture just about say it all:

I felt so terrible at first because he was so unhappy!  Luckily, he got over it after the food came out and the rest of the party went really smoothly.  I hope everyone who was able to attend thought so too!

 

Eliel was so lucky to have so many friends and family attend his birthday party.  I am still amazed at how much he is loved.   After getting over the initial shock of everything, he was able to be his smiley self.  He enjoyed walking around, checking out his presents and watching the other kids play.  

Then came time for the moment everyone had been waiting for: cake!  If you read my post about his actual birthday, then you can understand why I was a little nervous that he wasn't going to live up to the expectations of a first birthday cake!  Thankfully, he was much more interested this time than last time!

Once he got a taste of some of the frosting, he had no qualms about sticking his hand in for more.

We also tried to get a picture of all of the kids who were at his birthday party, but as you can imagine, that was easier said than done.  These was the best two we could get...

All in all, it was a wonderful party and one I will remember for ever!  What's even better is that I didn't have to clean up a mess afterwards. TOTALLY WORTH EVERY PENNY.  If you're looking for a fantastic place to have a party, Mr. Beef & Pizza is your place.
